 This is the complete guide to how to open a PayPal account in Kenya. With the advent of technological advancement, most people are doing various online jobs and activities for which they are greatly rewarded and paid through PayPal. 

If you need to open a PayPal account, here is what you need to do.

First, there are two types of PayPal accounts, namely: Personal account and Business Account.

Here is how to distinguish the two;

A Personal Account allows you to do online purchases online easily through various devices. These types of accounts are mostly used by individuals while the Business Paypal account is used by online vendors or businesses which sell products online. The Business Account allows their customers to make payments easily from the comfort of their device.

In this guide, we will focus on how to open a Personal Account.

1. Go to the Paypal.com website. It is advisable to use a computer to do this due to its ease of viewing all information from the site.

2. Type of Account. You will be prompted to choose the type of account you would like to open. For this Step choose a Personal account.

3. Put in Your Information. Carefully fill out the information that you will be prompted to enter. The information required is such as Full Names, Mobile Number, Date of Birth, National ID, or Passport Number.  In this step try to provide honest information as you will need to either verify that you entered accurate information later on.

N/B: It is important to know that PayPal inputs for you the country information. The website has an inbuilt feature to detect where you are accessing their websites from.

4. Log into your Account. You will need to tick the box that says that you agree to PayPal's Terms and conditions. After you have confirmed all your information select create an account.

Additional steps: You will need to confirm your email address. At this time, PayPal will have sent you an email and a link to confirm. Click on this link to confirm your account.

After following through on the above steps, you will have a fully functioning PayPal account ready to use.
